Winter Weather Advisory in Effect for Downeast Maine from Midnight to 7 p.m. Tuesday February 16
It's funny. You can always count on a good snowstorm or ice event during February Vacation. It seems like every year there's something, and usually it impacts the High School Basketball Tournament games at the Cross Insurance Center, and before that at the old Bangor Auditorium. This year, there are no Tourney Games in Bangor, because of COVID-19, but there will still be a storm!
There is currently a Winter Weather Advisory in effect from Midnight to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, February 16th.
The current forecast calls for Snow, Sleet and Freezing Rain Downeast beginning after Midnight on Tuesday, February 16th. We can expect snow and sleet around 1 inch with ice accumulation of up to 1/10th of an inch. Temps will be steady in the upper 20's.
On Tuesday we can expect Freezing Rain, Sleet and Snow in the morning Downeast, the Freezing Rain, Rain and Sleet in the afternoon. Storm total snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible. Ice accumulation of up to 1/4 of an inch with highs in the lower 30's
Tuesday night we can expect mostly cloudy skies with Freezing Rain likely in the evening then partly cloudy with Patchy Freezing Drizzle after midnight, with lows around 18.
