Winter is going to start off where fall left off, unfortunately. The National Weather Service in Caribou has issued a Winter Storm Watch for Saturday Evening, December 21st through Sunday Evening , December 22nd.

While the snowfall totals are minor, 1 to 3 inches, what is not, is the possibility of up to 1/2 inch of ice. One half inch of ice can cause power outages, and difficulty traveling. You should make precautions now, to be without power, and depending upon how you heat your house, without heat while the weather is good. Make sure you have batteries and candles. If you are using a generator, make sure it is properly vented. Know where your extra blankets are. If you haven't shoveled your roof, you should consider doing so, because freezing rain will add to the weight of the fluffy snow exponentially. Make sure you have ice melt. Charge up your cell phones. Stay tuned to our website as we will have the latest on the weather and any power outages. When you go to the store, smile, relax, and breathe!
