The Maine Forest Rangers have shared a video that shows, up-close, how the water buckets work on a firefighting helicopter.

I think the coolest part of this video is watching the helicopter as if you were riding in the bucket. The scoop is spinning, but it looks like the helicopter is the one that's turning in circles. If you're prone to motion sickness, it might freak you out a little bit.

The film, that was put together by Ranger Pilot Jeff Miller shows the whole process, from take-off to dunking the scoop, to emptying it. Maine Forest Rangers said in a Facebook post that they call it 'My Life as a Bucket.'

Fire danger is high right now, and folks are burning yard debris. Be careful, make sure you have a permit for any outdoor burn, and avoid having to see this bucket in action due to a fire you started.
