Trenton Volunteer Fire Department's Deputy Chief, Steve Heckman, will be presenting at the 2019 Fire Department Instructors Conference, April 8-13 in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Deputy Chief Heckman will be presenting on Fire Alarm Systems – Simplified Approach to Understanding: Operation, Limitations, Industry Terminology – and those Unwanted Alarms.  Deputy Chief Heckman is a subject matter expert with over 25 years in the field of commercial and industrial fire protection where he specialized in the design, installation and maintenance of alarm systems and holds certifications in Fire Protection Engineering of Fire Alarm Systems and Water-Based Suppression System Maintenance.

As a member of Trenton Volunteer Fire Department for over 12 years, Deputy Chief Heckman has a degree in Fire Science Technology (SMCC). He is currently an instructor for the Hancock County Fire Academy, Maine Fire Service Institute and EMCC Fire Science program.  He also is Pro-Board-Certified Firefighter I & II and Fire Instructor I & II, Emergency Vehicle Operations Class Trainer, National Fire Academy – Fire Investigation, Incident Safety Office & Public Information Officer, Certified Hazmat Technician, Certified Fire Inspector I and holds State of Maine Licenses for Fire Sprinkler Inspector & Electricians Helper.
