Three people are facing charges after police discovered a meth lab inside an apartment in Old Town.

This is the 33rd meth lab response by the MDEA this year.

Public Safety Spokesman Steve McCausland says Old Town Police received a tip Tuesday night that a meth lab was in operation inside apartment 2 at at 3 Howard Street on French Island.

The apartment was secured overnight until the MDEA meth lab response team could arrive on Wednesday to process the scene. The Old Town Fire Department and Maine DEP also assisted at the scene yesterday.

Three people were charged with trafficking in methamphetamine:

  • 42-year-old Tina Clavette, who lives in the apartment
  • 35-year-old Joshua Doucette of Milford
  • 27-year-old Aaron Coker who is listed as a transient from Old Town

The three were taken to the Penobscot County Jail. Last year, the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency responded to a record number of 37 meth labs. This latest incident puts the state only four shy of that number already this year.
