The National Weather Service is calling for significant snow in parts of Maine as a springtime storm pushes through the state on Monday.

The snowfall will start around 4 a.m. in Bangor, which is expected to see six inches of snow before the storm moves out. A hazardous weather outlook has been posted for the area.

Interior sections of the state could see up to nine inches of snow.

Downeast areas will see three inches to five inches of snow. The snow will mix with sleet and freezing rain for Downeast late Monday into Monday night.
