
Speed Enforcement Details Results In 65 Citations
Ellsworth Police and Hancock County Sheriff Deputies combined to work a 4 hour speed enforcement and distracted driver detail Friday afternoon July 20th on Route 1A.
The detail, funded by the Maine Bureau of Highway Safety resulted in 65 vehicles being stopped and cited for speeding. All vehicles stopped were traveling greater than 70 miles per hour, in a 55 mile per hour zone. The fastest vehicle stopped and cited was going 102 miles per hour!
