The Winter Baseball Meetings are underway in Nashville, and the Red Sox started things off with a bang today, agreeing with free agent Mike Napoli on a three year, $39 million deal. The plan according to the Boston Globe is for Napoli to be the first baseman and part-time catcher.

With the signing of Napoli, the Red Sox are overloaded at catcher, and Ryan Lavernway or Jarrod Satalamacchia are dangling out as trade bait. The Red Sox are still in the hunt for Cody Ross, Josh Hamilton and Shane Victorino.
