The Red Sox beat the Pittsburgh Pirates in an exhibition game in Florida, Friday night March 1st 5-2 in a game heard on AM 1370 WDEA. It was Mike Napoli's debut for the Sox and he was tested straight off, as Pirates leadoff man Darren Ford opened the game with a push bunt over to Napoli, who fielded it cleanly and raced to the bag, getting the sliding Ford by a split second.

In another positive note for the Red Sox, left hander Jon Lester pitched three shut out innings!  Dustin Pedroia went 2-2 with 2 RBI's to pace the Sox offence. For a recap of the game click here.
