The Boston Red Sox fell to the Philadelphia Phillies 3-1 Tuesday night, July 31st at Fenway Park, after putting ace Chris Sale on the 10 day disabled list.

Tuesday Drew Pomeranz went 5.0 innings allowing 4 hits and 2 runs. He struck out 3 but walked 4. He's now 1-5 on the season.

The Red Sox managed only 6 hits off of Jake Arrieta. JD Martinez, Jackie Bradley Jr. and Xander Bogaerts each had a double. Ian Kinsler, just acquired from the Angels made his 1st start at 2nd base and had his first hit in his 2nd at bat.

Meanwhile the Yankees beat Baltimore 6-3 and the Red Sox now lead the Yankees by 5 games. The Red Sox are off on Wednesday, while the Yankees play the Orioles at 1:05

The Red Sox play host to the Yankees in a 4 game series starting on Thursday. The pregame Thursday starts at 6:25 and 1st pitch at 7:10 on AM 1370 WDEA.
