Sale Heads to 10 Day Disabled List
The Boston Red Sox are set to start a 4 game series with the New York Yankees on Thursday, April 2nd and they're going to do it without their ace, Chris Sale. Sale was placed on the 10 day disabled list on Tuesday, July 31st retroactive to July 28th.
According to the Red Sox press release, Chris Sale has mild left should inflammation. The Red Sox recalled Brandon Workman from Pawtucket and Brian Johnson will start Thursday's game against the New York Yankees at Fenway Park.
Sale has a 11-4 record this year with a 2.04 ERA in 22 starts. He leads the majors in strikeouts (207), opponent bating average9.179) and his ERA is the lowest in the American League. He is 5-0 with a 0.23 ERA in his last 6 starts.
