Over 3000 Versant Power customers were without electricity Downeast, on Tuesday, August 25th thanks to a series of powerful thunderstorms that traveled thru the region .

There was a severe thunderstorm warning in effect for Washington and Northeastern Hancock County thru 5:15 p.m. and a severe thunderstorm watch is in effect for Hancock and Washington Counties until 10 p.m. tonight.

Most areas are expected to have their power restored by 8 p.m. To see the latest outages and estimated restoration times click HERE

Remember to avoid any downed lines. All lines should be considered as energized and are never safe to touch! Please give Versant Power crews working as much room as possible if you are passing them on the side of the roads.
