National Puppy Day – March 23
Today, March 23rd is National Puppy Day! Here's to all the puppies and those older dogs who still think they are a puppy at heart!
Since the pandemic began a year ago, I have been working from home, and one of the best parts of that has been the fact that I have been home with Elmer, Pebbles and Wilma!
Elmer and Wilma are brother and sister, and are now 5. Wilma is our son Collin's dog, but she comes over just about every day for doggie day care. Pebbles just turned 2.
Elmer is my velcro dog, going everywhere I go in the house. If I go from one room to another, he follows. If I get up in the middle of the night to go sleep on the couch because my bed is full of Danes and there's no room, he comes with me, because he doesn't want me to be lonely.
He loves going for a car ride. If I haven't taken him for a daily car ride by 4 p.m. he'll be by my side pawing at me, looking at me with those puppy dog eyes. And if I ask him "Do you want to go for a car ride?" he cocks his head, his tail and butt start wagging and he's ready by the door!
When the pandemic began, we would just go for a 10-15 minute car ride daily, just to get out of the house so we didn't go stir-crazy.
So in honor of National Puppy Day, please post a picture of your puppy or your older dog who thinks they are a puppy at heart
