SPCA of Hancock County’s Halloween-themed 5K Run and Walk Re-scheduled Due to Weather
It's supposed to rain cats and dogs this weekend and that means that the SPCA of Hancock County’s Annual Halloween 5K Run and Walk has been rescheduled, due to this weekend’s weather. The event was supposed to take place on Sunday, October 22nd.
Howl-O-Run will now be held at 9 a.m. on Sunday, October 29, at Marlboro Beach in Lamoine. All the proceeds will support the animals in the SPCA’s care.
People can register online or register in person on the day of the event, beginning at 8:30 a.m.
Participants will run or walk a scenic route decorated with Jack-O-Lanterns and boasting views of Frenchman Bay and mountains of Acadia National Park. Well-behaved, leashed dogs are welcome. Costumes for people, kids, and canines are also encouraged.
There will be prizes for top adult, child and canine runners as well as for best costumes.
The cost is only $25 per person and $15 for children. You can register online at or on the day of the event.
