Motorcade Escorting Hancock County Sheriff Luke Gross from Trenton to Augusta [PHOTOS]

Over 50 law enforcement vehicles escorted the body of Hancock County Sheriff Luke Gross from Trenton to the medial examiner's office in Augusta Thursday morning, September 23rd. The motorcade was expected to grow as it went through the Bangor area and down Interstate 95-South

Kudos to the drivers who were respectful and pulled over on Route 1A heading towards Ellsworth as the motorcade passed in the opposite direction

Deputy Gross was responding to a vehicle accident early this morning when he was struck by a vehicle and did not survive.

We join in the community's loss and grieve for Deputy Gross' family and share in the incredible pain of the law enforcement community and of first responders in Hancock County and throughout the State.

We will provide information about the escort of Deputy Gross' body back to Hancock County later in the week, and funeral arrangements once they are made available to us.
