MDI Softball 8 Ellsworth 2

The MDI Softball Team evened their record at 2-2 on the season with an 8-2 victory over Ellsworth on Thursday, April 30th on a cold, cloudy day. Ellsworth falls to 0-3 on the young season.

Haley Littlefield picked up the win for MDI, pitching a complete game, allowing 4 hits, 2 runs, 1 of which was earned. She struck out 3 and walked 1. Mariah Brown took the loss for Ellsworth, allowing 13 hits, 8 runs, 5 of which were earned. She struck out 8 and walked 2.

Avalon Kerley was 4-4 for MDI with 2 RBI's, Cassidy Parady was 3-4 with a RBI, Katie Guarino was 2-4 with a RBI, Ali Bierman was 2-4 with 2 RBI. Julianna Cleaves was 1-3 with a RBI, and Darcy Kanu was 1-3 for MDI. Kerley, and Madison Thornton each had a stolen base, while Kanu had 2 stolen bases.

Caitlin Bean was 2-4 with a RBI for Ellsworth, with one of those hits being a double. Also Leah Stevens was 1-3 and Abby Lynch was 1-3 with a double.

MDI will host Presque Isle Saturday, May 2nd in a doubleheader, while the Ellsworth Eagles take on Washington Academy at home on Monday, May 4th
