MDI Girls Fall to Hampden 62-45 [STATS]
The MDI Girls Basketball Team fell to the Hampden Broncos 62-45 in Bar Harbor at Bernard Parady Gymnasium on Monday, February 1st.
The score was tied 9-9 at the end of the 1st Quarter. Elizabeth Joned had 6 points to lead the Trojans while Elena Alderman hit a 3-pointer. For Hampden Megan Deans had 6 points and Emma Haskell hit a 3-pointer.
In the 2nd Quarter Hampden Academy outscored MDI 18-12 to take a 27-21 lead at the end of the 1st Half. For the Broncos Taya Archer had 7 points with a 3-pointer. Bella McLaughlin had 5 points with a 3-pointer and Sadie Campbell had a 3-pointer. Emma Haskell also had 3 points for Hampden Academy. For MDI Leah Carroll and Emily Carter each had 5 points with a 3-pointer. Elizabeth Jones had 2 more points.
In the 3rd Quarter Hampden Academy outscored MDI 20-12 to take a 47-33 lead at the end of the 3rd Quarter. For the Broncos Meagan Deans had 10 points while Lauren Voteur had 5 points with a 3-pointer. Taya Archer had 3 points and Bella McLaughlin had 2 points. For MDI Olivia Gray had 6 points. Elena Alderman hit her 2nd 3-pointer of the night. Elizabeth Jones had 2 more points and Mollie Gray was 1-2 from the free throw line.
In the 4th Quarter Olivia Gray led the way for MDI with 7 points including a 3-pointer. Bella Brown and Sophia Brophy each had 2 points and Elena Alderman was 1-2 from the free throw line. For Hampden Academy, Lucy Wiles had 6 points and Bella McLaughline had 4 points. Emma Haskell hit her 2nd 3-pointer and Megan Deans had 2 points.
MDI was led by Olivia Gray with 13 points while Elizabeth Jones had 10 points. The Trojans were 2-9 from the free throw line.
Hampden Academy had 3 players in double figures. Megan Dean had a game high 18 points while Bella McLaughlin finished with 11 points and Taya Archer had 10 points. The Broncos were 2-5 from the free throw line.
MDI, now 1-3, plays host to John Bapst on Thursday, February 4th at 6:15 p.m. That game will be broadcast on the MDI NFHS page.
