Acadia National Park Closes Part of Park Loop Road Ahead of Winter Storm
Acadia National Park officials announced Monday morning, February 1st that the Ocean Drive section of the Park Loop Road, from Schooner Head Road to Otter Cliffs Road, will be closed from late Monday afternoon through Tuesday due to the impending winter storm.
There currently is a winter storm warning in effect from 11 p.m. tonight February 1st through 11 p.m. Tuesday, February 2nd
The current weather forecast calls for 4 to 6 inches of snow Monday night and then snow, freezing rain and sleet on Tuesday morning, February 2nd, with freezing rain and sleet on Tuesday afternoon. Storm total snow accumulations of 5 to 9 inches of snow with ice accumulation of up to 1/10th of an inch.
