Ellsworth Girls Tame Sumner Tigers 71-9 [STATS]

The Ellsworth Girls Basketball Team was too much for the Sumner Tigers on Monday, February 1st running out to a 16-2 lead at the end of the 1st Quarter en route to a 71-9 victory at Sumner Memorial High School.

In the 1st Quarter Morgan Clifford had 2 3-pointers for 6 points, while Casey Carter had 4 points, and Jocelyn Jordan and Autumn Paul each had 2 points. Both Samantha Carter and Kylie Robidoux were 1-2 from the free throw line. For Sumner Breanna Flaherty had their points.

In the 2nd Quarter, Ellsworth outscored Sumner 19-1 to take a 35-3 lead at the end of the 1st Half. Morgan Clifford had 2 more 3's for 6 points while Samantha Carter also had 6 points. Ella Hubbard had a 3-pointer and Kylie Robidoux and Sierra Andrews each had 2 points. For Sumner Clara Christiansen was 1-2 from the free throw line.

Ellsworth increased their lead in the 3rd Quarter, outscoring Sumner 23-2 to lead 58-5. Sierra Andrews had 6 points, while Casey Carter had 5 points whit a 3-pointer. Jocelyn Jordan and Morgan Clifford each had 4 points while Ella Hubbard and Kylie Robidoux each chipped in a basket. Belinda Catheron had Sumner's points.

In the 4th Quarter Jocelyn Jordan had 4 points to pace Ellsworth while Ella Hubbard hit her 2nd 3-pointer of the night. Samantha Higgins had 3 points, Morgan Clifford 2 points and Amber Rae Pesek was 1-2 from the free throw line. For Sumner Breanna Flaherty and Brooklyn Newenham each had a basket.

Ellsworth was led by Morgan Clifford with a game high 18 points, while Jocelyn Jordan had 10 points and Casey Carter 9 points. The Eagles had 7 3-pointers and were 4-8 from the free throw line.
