MDI Girls Beat Central 50-34 [PHOTOS]

The MDI Girl's Basketball Team snapped their 3 game losing streak with a 50-34 win over Central in Bar Harbor on Saturday afternoon January 21st. The Trojans never trailed in the game

The Trojans jumped out to a 16-11 lead at the end of the 1st Quarter. Julia Watras, Maddy Candage and Mariah Hamor each had 4 points for MDI while Abbe Miller and Hannah Chamberlain had 2 points each for the Trojans. For Central Emilee Cohen had 5 points, while Libby Cook, Sydney Allen and Emma Campbell each had 2 points each.

At the end of the 1st Half MDI led 25-20. Hannah Chamberlain had a 3-pointer for MDI and Maya Watras, Alexis Clarito and Maddy Candage each chipped in with 2 points for the Trojans. For Central, Sydney Allen had 4 points, while Emma Campbell and Emily Smith had 2 points and Emilee Campbell had 1 point.

At the end of the 3rd Quarter, MDI led 35-28. Abbe Miller had 4 points for the Trojans while Maya Watras, Julia Watras and Maddy Good had 2 points each. For Central, Sydney Allen had 4 points and Rachael Smith and Emma Campbell had 2 points each.

In the 4th Quarter, MDI outscored Central 15-6. For the Trojans Maya Watras had 5 points, Hannah Chamberlain had 4 points including a 3-pointers. Maddy Candage had 4 points and Maddy Good had 2 points for the Trojans. For Central, Libby Cook, Abigail Allen and Emily Smith had 2 points each.

MDI was led by Maddy Candage with 10 points while Maya Watras and Hannah Chamberlain had 9 points each. MDI was 2-6 from the free throw line.

Central was led by Sydney Allen with 10 points while Emma Campbell and Emilee Cohen had 6 points each. Central was 6-14 from the free throw line.

MDI is now 8-5. The Trojans are off until Friday, January 27th when they travel to Presque Isle to play the Wildcats at 6 PM in a game that will be broadcast on AM 1370 WDEA and WDEA Internet Radio.

Central is 9-3 and next plays Hermon at home on Monday, January 23rd at 7 PM.
