MDI Boy’s Tennis Team Are Class B Northern Maine Champs – Girl’s Are Runner-Ups [PHOTOS]

The MDI Boy's and Girl's Tennis Teams traveled down to Bates College on Tuesday morning, June 7th to play in the Northern Maine Class B Championships. The Boys defeated John Bapst 3-2 to win the Northern Maine Championship while the Girls fell to Waterville 2-3.

The MDI Boy's will play in the State Class B Finals on Saturday, June 11th at Lewiston High School

Girl's Tennis

• 1st Singles - Linda Bolten won 6-0, 6-1
• 2nd Singles - Lelia Weir won 1-6, 6-3, 6-3
• 3rd Singles - Taber Allen lost 6-7 (6-8 Tiebreaker), 2-6
• 1st Doubles - Addy Smith and Hannah St. Amand lost 4-6, 4-6
• 2nd Doubles - Grace Lemoine and Eliza Levin lost 6-7 (4-7 Tiebreaker), 4-6

Boy's Tennis

• 1st Singles - Westy Granholm won 4-6, 6-3, 7-5
• 2nd Singles - Max Friedlander lost 6-1, 5-7, 4-6
• 3rd Singles - Evan Ankrom won 6-2, 4-6, 6-2
• 1st Doubles - Jack Hodgdon and Jameson Weir lost 1-6, 6-2, 3-6
• 2nd Doubles - Treyan Nelson and Owen Kelly won 6-2, 6-4
