MDI Boys Run Away From Washington Academy 79-43 [PHOTOS/RECAP/STATS]
The MDI Boys Basketball Team ran away from the Washington Academy Raiders en route to a 79-43 victory in Bar Harbor on Tuesday, December 19th. The Trojans outscored the Raiders 28-10 in the decisive 3rd Quarter and never looked back.
The game was tied 15-15 at the end of the 1st Quarter. Washington Academy hist 3 3-pointers, Tihomir Babic had 5 points with a 3-pointer, Donald Socotomah and Milan Filipovich each had a 3-pointer and Jim Lin and Brandon Allard had 2 points each for Washington Academy. For MDI Andrew Phelps had 5 points including a 3-pointer and Finn McConomy, Brett Duley, Colby Lee, Derek Collin and Eli Parady each had 2 points for the Trojans.
MDI outscored Washington Academy 15-9 to take a 30-24 lead at the end of the 1st Half. For MDI Collin had 7 points with a 3-pointer, Dane Vanzura had 4 points and Alden Fournier and Parady had 2 points for MDI. For Washington Academy Filipovich had 4 points, Socotomah had a 3-pointer and Kyle Case had 2 points.
In the 3rd Quarter MDI came out on fire scoring 28 points to take a 58-34 lead. Phelps had 8 points with 2 3-pointers. Drew Shea had 6 points, Owen Mild had 5 points, McConomy had a 3-pointer and Parady, Brett Duley and Colby Lee had 2 points each. For Washington Academy Babic had 5 points, Socotomah and Filipovich had 2 points and Lin had 1 point.
In the 4th Quarter MDI scored 21 more points, for 49 points in the 2nd Half. Parady had 7 points, Brett Duley 6 points, Derek Collin 4 points, McConomy hit his 2nd 3-pointer of the night and Alden Fournier added 1 point.
MDI was led by Eli Parady, Andrew Phelps and Derek Collin with 13 points each. Brett Duley added 10 points. The Trojans were 7-11 from the free throw line.
Washington Academy was led by Tihomir Babic with a game high 16 points while Milan Filipovih had 12 points. The Raiders were 4-6 from the free throw line.
