MDI and Ellsworth to Play 8 Man Football in 2019

The Maine High School Football Committee has met, and the following classes are being considered, based upon the enrollments for the 2019 season. The proposal is for 5 classes, Class A for 760 plus, Class B 505-759, Class C Less than 504, Large 8 Man for 350 plus, and Small 8 Man for Less than 350.

Currently, for those schools who are committing to 8 man, there is a 1 year commitment. Both Ellsworth and MDI have committed to playing 8 man for the Fall 2019 Season.

Here are the Proposed Classifications. The Football Committee will be meeting the 1st week of February to finalize everything. Schools still can opt to play 8 man and schools can petition to play up a class.
