A Maine man was arrested on Saturday after allegedly firing several shots in a New Hampshire shopping mall's parking lot.

Police in Lee, New Hampshire were dispatched to the Lee Marketplace shopping plaza just before noon on Saturday to a report of a man firing a gun in the parking lot, near the Market Basket supermarket. Witnesses told WMUR-TV that the man was acting erratically, pacing back and forth, next to his car, waving the gun around. Sometimes the man would place the gun next to his head, and was taking things out of his car and placing them in a truck bed.

When 27-year-old Gordon Falt, who's believed to be from Northeast Harbor, Maine, refused to respond to officers, a perimeter was set up and several of the stores were put on lockdown. It was a busy time at the shopping plaza, so officers shut down the parking lot to traffic. Police say Falt was taken into custody just after 1:30 in the afternoon. No one was hurt in the incident, and police say Falt never fired on police or at any people. Any shots that were fired were directed into the air.

WGME-TV reports that Falt is a convicted felon who is now facing multiple charges stemming from Saturday's incident. When he was arrested, police say he was in possession of several stolen firearms and a large amount of ammunition. As well as federal charges in New Hampshire, police say Falt will also face at least two federal charges in Hancock County, Maine.
