The story line may not follow that of your favorite "lost dog" movie exactly, but it comes pretty close.

Back sometime in November of 2019, Nellie, a Great Pyrenees mix, went missing from her home in Addison, the small coastal peninsula town south of Route 1 in Washington County.

Now, almost six months later, Nellie was spotted and then eventually trapped 63 miles away in the city of Calais.

With the help of others, volunteers with Maine Lost Dog Recovery were able to finally trap Nellie, and then just yesterday Nellie was reunited with her owners from Addison!

We have no idea how this almost 90 lbs. dog survived within the Maine woods over the past six months, but we're sure glad she did, and hope that she's happy to be back home in Addison.

Good job everyone!
