LD 1050 – An Act to Make Holocaust Education Mandatory in the State of Maine

Back in late April we told you about LD 1050 - An Act to Make Holocaust Education Mandatory in the State of Maine. The bill, co-sponsored by Ellsworth State Senator and Ellsworth High School graduate Louie Luchini was introduced at the request of Heidi Omlor, who teaches about the Holocaust at Ellsworth High School

According to Heidi Omlor LD 1050 made it through committee and the Senate where it was unanimously approved 34-0. The next stop is in the House, where they may be opposition.  Mrs. Omlor reports that this may be taken up as soon as Wednesday, May 29th. If you support this bill, you are encouraged to email your local representative and ask them to support passage.
