EHS Students and Staff Testify In Favor of LD 1050 – An Act to Make Holocaust Education Mandatory in the State of Maine
Writer and philosopher George Santayana said 'Those who do not learn history are doomed to repeat it.' Led by Ellsworth High School teacher Heidi Omlor, students testified in support of LD 1050 - An Act to Make Holocaust Education Mandatory in the State of Maine on Monday, April, 22nd in Augusta.
The bill, co-sponsored by Ellsworth State Senator and Ellsworth High School graduate Louie Luchini was introduced at the request of Omlor, who teaches about the Holocaust at Ellsworth High School
