Kitchen Fire in Tremont Wednesday

Fire crews from Tremont, Southwest Harbor and Mount Desert battled a major kitchen fire Wednesday afternoon, June 13th in Tremont.

The family is displaced after the flames and smoke damaged much of the home's interior, with the structure remaining intact.

When crews from Tremont arrived on the scene flames were jetting out the 2nd floor windows. Fire personnel from Southwest Harbor, Mount Desert and Tremont knocked down the fire and worked hard to supply water to the remote location.

Fire trucks returned to their respective stations 2 hours after the initial call.
