Island Wide 4th of July Parade – COVID-19 Style
The Bar Harbor Chamber of Commerce is making sure that COVID-19 isn't going to destroy the 4th of July Parade. Rather, they are reaching out to the entire Island community both businesses and residents to make the 2020 4th of July Parade one to remember, by having them decorate their businesses and homes Red White and Blue and creating a walking/driving parade
From the Bar Harbor Chamber
"July 4th is just over three weeks away and we’re not going to let a pandemic keep us from showing our national spirit! This year, Bar Harbor will be celebrating Independence Day with a “reverse parade”. Instead of the parade passing before their eyes, guests will be doing the walking to take in the festive patriotic decorations.
The Bar Harbor Chamber of Commerce is encouraging the business community to decorate their store, lodging establishment, bank, restaurant, or any other type of storefront to make the entire town red, white and blue! Residents are also encouraged to decorate their home, front lawn, or porch and be included on the parade list.
And let’s not limit this show of spirit to Bar Harbor. Businesses and residents in all towns on Mount Desert Island should break out the red, white, and blue to get in on the fun.
Those who want to enjoy the reverse parade can walk or drive the “parade route” to safely take in the entries from Friday through Sunday of the July 4th weekend.
To sign up to be a part of the "reverse parade", click below to download the registration form and submit it before June 26th. A list of participating businesses and residential locations will be available on our July 4th web page starting on June 29th."
