4th of July – Parking Holiday in Bar Harbor
Although the traditional festivities in Bar Harbor of the parade, seafood festival and fireworks have been cancelled for the July 4th holiday because of the global pandemic there are still great reasons to head to Bar Harbor!
There are over 50 businesses, organizations and homes that have registered for the reverse parade, where you walk/drive by with minions on display at First Express on Cottage Street in Bar Harbor!
Acadia National Park is wide open! Take a drive through, or take a hike along the Carriage Roads.
The restaurants are open, with many now adding outside seating in the parklets if you are uncomfortable dining inside.
The Bar Harbor Whale Watch is offering trips, and you can take a narrated tour via Oli's Trolley
One thing that is free today is the parking! You don't have to pay for parking in Bar Harbor on the 4th of July. So even though the meters and kiosks are there, feel like rebel and just ignore them!
