The Bar Harbor 4th of July Fireworks are officially not happening in 2020. At a recent Bar Harbor Town Council Meeting the Bar Harbor Town Council voted to pull their funding for the 2020 4th of July in order to reduce the tax burden on the Bar Harbor tax payers especially in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.

In a press release talking about the 4th of July Parade with a Twist, the Chamber clarified

Due to the limit on group gatherings and with a focus on public health and safety, we regret that the Chamber will not be holding the July 4th fireworks display this year.
