
Bar Harbor Historical Society’s Free Community Day is Saturday October 25
You are invited to the Bar Harbor Historical Society's FREE Community Day this Saturday, October 25th. The event takes place at 127 West Street at La Rochelle from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Community Day Season Finale is the Bar Harbor Historical Society's annual thank you to the community with FREE admission to La Rochelle. Hand color a “Post Card from Eden,” and see one-day special exhibits. There will be stories with author Jennifer Comeau and in the Faerie Garden with make your own faerie wings. During this event, a membership tent will offer exclusive perks to new and renewing members. Bring a blanket and picnic or enjoy our free hot dogs and popcorn while you listen to jazz with Swing Street, 12-2 pm
WDEA will be broadcasting live from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.!
Several community partners, MDI Historical Society, Seal Cove Auto Museum, The First Coast, and the SPCA of Hancock County are participating on Saturday. The MDI Historical Society will have a tent launching their new app “Know Before You Go”, a digital, self-guided tour featuring over 20 historic sites across Mount Desert Island. The Seal Cove Auto Museum will bring over a 1931 Model A Woody Stationwagon and the SPCA hosts a coloring booth with a furry friend. The First Coast will help collect local oral histories in our pop-up recording booth.
At 5:30 pm “Lace Curtain Irish”, a play written and directed by Carolyn Gage, performed by Katie Migdal - Lizzie Borden took an Axe…or did she? (18+ please). Come to this MDI premier event, a one-act play presenting an alternate theory of the Borden murders. Please pre-register for this event - limit to 40 guests.
