High Fire Danger Downeast Saturday
It seems hard to believe with all the rain we have had, but the Maine State Forest Service has indicated that the wildfire danger for Downeast Maine and the Central Highlands is high for Saturday, May 20, 2017
Strong northwesterly winds are bringing dry air into the region today. Winds will remain gusty this afternoon with low relative humidity and sunny skies. These weather conditions may bring the potential for any fires that develop to spread quickly.
You should check with your local fire department to see if they are issuing burn permits given these conditions.
