Happy Summer!

Today's the 1st Day of Summer! Yes, there are still 24 hours in the day, but it's the "longest day" with sunrise in Bar Harbor on Monday, June 20th at 4:46 AM and sunset in Bar Harbor at 8:22 PM. That's a whopping 15 hours and 36 minutes of sunshine!

I'm hoping that this will be a great summer, one that everyone will remember for a long time! Having lived in Maine for over 30 years, I realize that summer is short and fleeting and it will be Fall before we know it.

What makes it a perfect summer weather wise? I'd love to see temperatures in the 80's during the day, and in the high 50's at night. That to me is ideal. I'd love to have a little rain midweek, but not soaking rains, just enough to keep everything green and not enough to wash out activities. Given that much of Maine is reliant on tourism, I'd love the weekends to be rain-free.
