Food Pantries
- Bar Harbor Food Pantry - Open Tuesday-Friday 9am -2pm. Serving all of Hancock County. Call ahead for an appointment 288-3375
- Westside Food Pantry - Serving Southwest Harbor, Tremont and Mount Desert. Available the 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month. They provide vouchers only. Contact 664-8615 www.westsidefoodpantry.org
- Backpack Program - Delivery on Thursdays. Open to all students in AOS 91. If you haven't signed up through the individual school survey please email bneilly@mdirss.org
Restaurants Providing Free Meals
- Atlantic Oceanside. Lunch will be provided Monday-Friday with pickup from 10:30-1pm. Pickup will be at the Willows Circle at the Atlantic Oceanside. - Open to all AOS 91 students. Lunch will consist of a sandwich - Choice of Peanut Butter and Jelly or Turkey and Cheese. Served with Chips, pickle, whole fruit (banana or clementine) and apple juice. - Geddy's - Offering free meals to pick up for students from 4 to 6 pm. Choice of Mac 'n Cheese, Pasta with Marinara Suauce, Chicken Fingers and Hotdog. Call ahead 288-5077. Curbside delivery is available for adults when placing your child's order (fee for adult food)
- Open Table MDI - Pick Up or Delivery. Orders to go at the Bar Harbor Congregational Church on Tuesday's from 4 to 6 pm
- Red Sky in Southwest Harbor. - Free lunches Monday-Friday 11:30 -2. Call ahead to order. Open to all students in AOS 91. 244-0476 or email janet.adler@mdirss.org
- The River Church in Town Hill. Offering Free Bag Lunches for students on Thursday March 26th and Friday March 27th. Call ahead to order the number of lunches needed at 288-3048
State Services through DHHS - All are encouraged to fill out and submit applications and reviews for programs including Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) and the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).
