First Snowfall of the Season Is On Its Way
Ready or not... The first snowfall of the season is on it's way, which will be perfect for the Ellsworth Christmas Tree Lighting on Saturday night, November 27th at 5 p.m.
There is a Winter Weather Advisory in effect for Downeast Maine from 7 p.m, Friday night to 7 p.m. Saturday night with total snow accumulations possible of 3 to 6 inches of snow.
That first snowfall unfortunately brings a rash of accidents, as everyone has forgotten how to drive in the snow,, and with the nice weather we have had, may have neglected to put on their snow tires if you use them.
Remember to slow down in the snow and allow a little more space between yourself and the car in front of you. The speed in which you can stop slows down with the snow and ice on the roadway. Drive a little bit more defensively, while you may feel comfortable driving in the snow, you can't be sure about your fellow drivers.
Allow a little more time to arrive at your destination.
And while you have time, check to make sure you have these essentials for your vehicle
