Ellsworth Boys Beat Old Town 61-29 [STATS]

The Ellsworth Boys Basketball Team beat Old Town 61-29 on Saturday afternoon, December 28th at Katsiaficas Gymnasium in Ellsworth. The game was broadcast on Ticket TV and on WDEA AM 1370.

After Old Town scored their first basket, Ellsworth went on a 12-0 run, and effectively never looked back. The Eagles led 18-4 at the end of the 1st Quarter and 35-9 at the end of the 1st Half. Ellsworth led 47-22 at the end of the 3rd Quarter.

Ellsworth was led by Kyle Kenny who had 16 points. Kenny was T'd up in the 1st Quarter after dunking and hanging on the rim. He had 3-4 fast-break layups the rest of the game and refrained from dunking. Zach Bray and Jackson Barry each had 7 points. The Eagles had 2 3-pointers, with Morgan Blair and Bray each sinking a 3-ball. Ellsworth was 7-18 from the free throw line.

Old Town was led by Emmitt Byther with 16 points. He had all of the Coyote's points in the 1st Quarter (4) and had 8 of Old Town's 9 points in the 1st Half. Tyler Priest had a pair of 3-pointers to finish with 8 points. Old Town was 9-14 from the free throw line.

Ellsworth is now 6-1. They are off until Friday, January 3rd, when they will play the Trojans at MDI at 7 p.m. That game will be broadcast on AM 1370 WDEA, on WDEA Internet Radio, on our free downloadable APP and on any Alexa enabled device with the pregame starting at 6:45 p.m.

Old Town is 2-5. They are off until Saturday, January 4th when they will play at Hermon at 4:30 p.m.
