Ellsworth 41 Lake Region 28

Yes, it's preseason. Yes, the regular season doesn't start the for the Ellsworth Girl's Varsity Basketball until next Saturday, December 6th at 1 PM at Foxcroft Academy (which will be broadcast here on WDEA AM 1370 and WDEA Internet Radio. BUT, anytime you can defeat the defending State Champions it's a good thing!

The Ellsworth Eagles defeated the Lake Region Lakers 41-28 and only trailed once in the game! Ellsworth led 8-7 at the end of the 1st Quarter, 17-16 at the Half and then broke the game open in the 3rd Quarter, limiting the Lakers to just 3 points and led 29-19 before winning 41-28.

Ellsworth was led by Sammy Mason with 14 points. The Eagles shot 6-18 from the free throw line. Lake Region was led by CeCe Hancock with 10 points including 2 3 pointers.

Ellsworth may have just woken up the rest of Class B East!
