Crash Closes Bangor Road in Ellsworth Tuesday [UPDATE]

6PM - The Ellsworth Police Department is reporting that Roue 1A has reopened for traffic in both directions.

The Hancock County Sheriff’s Department is reporting that Route 1A aka the Bangor Road in Ellsworth is closed to traffic in both directions in the area of McGowen’s Hill as of about 12:45 pm.

Traffic from Brewer is being detoured to Route 46 in Holden.

Traffic from Ellsworth to Brewer is being detoured to the Christian Ridge Road then onto the Bucksport Road.

WABI TV is reporting that 1 person is dead after 2 vehicles were involved in a head-on crash and 2 others were taken to the hospital
