Children attending school at the Conners Emerson School in Bar Harbor will be enjoying a long weekend, as there will be NO SCHOOL on Monday, December 12th. This affects the Conners Emerson School ONLY.! It does not apply to any other schools in AOS 91

Here's the message sent out to Conners Emerson Families

Dear CES Families,

This week we have seen a significant increase in the number of students and staff who have been absent due to respiratory illness, flu-like symptoms, and/or being Covid-19 positive.  Today we had approximately 30% of our student population absent in addition to approximately 20% of our staff.

School will be cancelled on Monday, December 12th

We have been in continuous communication with the Maine CDC due to our outbreak status and it is their recommendation that our school buildings be closed for a period of 3 days in order to help break this cycle of illness.  This will allow our custodial team time to disinfect and deep clean our buildings and give our staff and students time to rest and recover.

If your child becomes ill or shows symptoms of illness over the weekend, please email either Mrs. Webster, Miss Taylor, or our school nurses so that we have an accurate account of how many of our students/staff are ill and their symptoms.

We understand that this will be a hardship on families and appreciate your continued support in keeping our school community safe.

(All extra-curricular activities are cancelled for Monday.  Tuesday school lunch will be what would have been served on Monday: hamburgers.)
