MDI Hospital is offering a Safe Sitter Class on Wednesday, August 14th from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Lisa Stewart Women’s Health Center at 330 Main Street in Bar Harbor.
The class will be taught by Jean Young and Wanda Fernald.

They will learn CPR for children and infants and rescue skills in the event the child or infant is choking.
The class offers students the opportunity to learn what to do when faced with dangers such as power failures or weather emergencies, how to prevent unsafe situations, and tips to manage behavior that will help them stay in control of themselves and the children in their care. Also included is education on the ages and stages of child development and diapering practice.
The class fee is $50. Students should bring a sack lunch. To register, contact Karen Vanzura, at 207-288-5082 x1444 or email karen.vanzura@mdihospital.org. Early registration is recommended as classes fill quickly.
