WDEA's Chris Popper sat down with Barb Neilly the principal at the Conners Emerson School and MaryAnne Young, one of the teachers, who has taught there since 1986. Neilly and Young told Popper about the Blue Ribbon award the school just received, and the reasons why the school received the award.

Both Neilly and Young mentioned the extraordinary support of the school by the Bar Harbor taxpayers. They have a full time social worker at the school and talked about efforts the school goes to, to insure students are at school daily. They talked about the lack of turnover among the staff, and what winning the award says about the school, the staff, students, parents and community.
