Caribou Upsets MDI 60-57 [BOX SCORE]

The Caribou Vikings Boy's Basketball team trailed for the majority of the game, but took a 4 point lead in the 4th Quarter and managed to hang on to win 60-57 over the MDI Boy's team on Wednesday December 30th in Caribou. The Vikings went to the free throw line 23 times, going 17-23 while MDI just made 10 trips to the free throw line, going 7-10.

MDI took a 17-12 lead at the end of the 1st Quarter. Andrew Phelps had 5 points including a 3-pointer, Isaiah Keene had 3 points, Aaron Snurkowski and Riley Swanson each had a 3-pointer and Graham Good had 2 points for the Trojans. For Caribou Donovan Savage had 2 3-pointers for 6 points while Nick Allen had 4 points.

At the half, MDI led 32-27. Russell Kropff led MDI in the quarter with 8 points, including 2 3-pointers. For Caribou Savage had 9 points including a 3-pointer and Andre Rossignol had 7 points including a 3-pointer.

At the end of the 3rd Quarter, MDI led 42-41. For MDI Swanson had 5 points including another 3-pointer. For Caribou, Savage had 5 points as did Rossignol who also had another 3-pointer.

In the final quarter, Caribou outscored MDI 19-15. Savage had 10 points for the Vikings and Ricky Sheldon had 5 points. MDI was led by Swanson with 8 points including 2 3-pointers, and Graham Good had 4 points.

MDI was led by Riley Swanson with 16 points, while Russell Kropff had 11 points. MDI was 7-10 from the free throw line.

Caribou was led by Donovan Savage with a game high 30 points, while Andre Rossignol had 10 points and Nick Allen had 10 points. Caribou was 17-23 from the free throw line.

MDI is now 4-2 and will play at Presque Isle 2-3 at 2:30 PM on Thursday December 31st in a game that will be broadcast on AM 1370 and WDEA Internet Radio.

Caribou, now 2-3 will play host to Ellsworth 5-1 at 2:30 PM on Thursday, December 31st.
