Remember the Butterball Turkey Hotline is there to assist you daily November and December to make your holiday turkey perfect. You can call them at 1-800-BUTTERBALL, (1-800-288-8372) weekdays from 11 AM to 8 PM Eastern Time , or email them your questions.

This is the 31st  year that Butterball has provided the free service. When they began, six home economists answered 11,000 questions, today, there are over  50 professionally trained, college-educated home economists and nutritionists, who respond to more than 100,000 questions each November and December. Butterball is bringing the hotline into the age of social media as consumers increasingly communicate through smartphones and social media rather than old-fashioned phone calls. It plans to give tips via Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and its own new app, called Butterball Cookbook Plus. The app, which costs $4.99, is not available for phones and tablets running Google's Android operating system.

The Butterball Hotline has received some real calls that just want to make you suggest that the caller go out for Thanksgiving Dinner. Here are some of the best:

15. "Can I take my frozen turkey into my sauna to thaw it faster?"

14. "Can I use my oven’s self-cleaning cycle to speed up the cooking process?"

13. "Can I brine my turkey in the washing machine?"

12. "Is it okay to thaw my turkey in the bathtub while bathing my kids?"

11. "The turkey has been sitting out all night, is it still good"

10. "If I put my phone in the turkey, can you tell me if it's done?"

9. "How can I be sure it's dead?"
