Brewer JV Boys Too Much for MDI 58-23 [PHOTOS/STATS]

The Brewer JV Boys were too  much for the MDI White JV Team, as they beat the Trojans 58-23 on Saturday afternoon, January 30th at Bernard Parady Gymnasium in Bar Harbor.

Brewer jumped out to a 24-5 lead at the end of the 1st Quarter. Brock Flagg had 8 points for the Witches, while Ryan Young had 6 points and Aiden Davis 5 points including a 3-pointer. Braden Carr drained a 3-pointer and Evan Nadeau was 2-2 from the free throw line for Brewer. For MDI Isaac MacDonnell had a 3-pointer and Aiden Grant had 2 points.

Brewer extended their lead in the 2nd Quarter, outscoring MDI 15-5 to take a 39-10 lead at the end of the 1st Half. For Brewer Young and Davis added 4 more points each, Andrew Hodgins had a 3-pointer and Carr and Nadeau each chipped in a basket for 2 points. For MDI Ethan Sosa had a 3-pointer while Ben Lipski had 2 points.

In the 3rd Quarter Brewer added to their lead, outscoring MDI 13-8 to lead 52-18 at the end of the 3rd Quarter. For the Witches, Brock Flagg had 6 points with a 3-pointer, Andrew Hodgins had 4 points with another 3-pointer and Braden Carr had 3 points. For MDI Jack White and Isaac MacDonnell each hit 3-pointers, while Ben Lipski was 2-2 from the free throw line.

In the 4th Quarter Camden Barker had a 3-pointer for the Trojans while Jack White added a bucket. For Brewer, Nadeau, Davis and Young each scored a basket.

Brewer was led by Brock Flagg with 14 points, while Ryan Young had 12 points and Aiden Davis 11 points. The Witches were 7-12 from the free throw line.

MDI was led by Isaac MacDonnell with 6 points while Jack White had 5 points. The Trojans were 2-6 from the free throw line.

MDI, now 0-2 will play at Hampden on Monday, February 1st at 5:15. That game was originally scheduled to be played on Tuesday, February 2nd, but has been moved because of the impending storm. That game may be viewed on the Hampden Academy NFHS page (subscription)
