
Bar Harbor Voters Vote to Continue Cruise Ship Restrictions By 63 Vote Margin
Bar Harbor voters went to the polls with 1 of the most divisive questions on the ballot - Cruise Ship passenger limitations. By a vote of 1776-1713, 63 votes, Bar Harbor voters voted to continue the cruise ship restrictions.
3654 of Bar Harbor's 5430 registered voters cast ballots in Tuesday's election, a turn out of 67 percent.
In 2022, voters approved 1,000-a-day cruise ship disembarkation limits. Article 4 would have allowed the Bar Harbor Town Council to put in place a new set of limitation rules.
The Bar Harbor Planning Board had recommended passage of Article 4 by a vote of 4-2 and the Warrant Committee had recommended passage by a vote of 11-2.
