Congratulations to the Acadian Youth Sports 11/12 Little League team which defeated Machias on Wednesday, July 16th to advance to the 2015 Maine State 11/12 Little League Baseball Championship that will be played at Clyde L. Sukeforth Memorial Field in Waldoboro (594 Main Street).

The Acadians team is coached by Josh Mitchell and managed by Josh Mitchell and coached by Tom James and Jason Beckwith. The team is comprised of Sam Mitchell, Ethan Merchant, Jack DaCorte, Logan Beckwith, Porter Isaacs, Graydon Wellman-Webster, Brady Renault, Stevie Gilbert, AJ Lozano, Nate Philbrook, Tucker James and Andrew Clark.

In the game against Machias, the Acadians led 2-0 after 1 inning, 5-0 after 2 innings, 10-0 after 3 innings and the final score was 13-1 with the game stopped after 4 innings as a result of the mercy rule.

Sam Mitchell pitched 4 innings for the Acadians allowing 3 hits. Logan Beckwith was 3-3, Grady Wellman-Webster had 2 hits, Porter Isaacs hit a solo home run. Nate Philbrook hit his 1st home run, a 3 run shot.

The Acadians will play on Sunday July 26th at 5 PM against the District 3 representative and then on Monday July 27th against the District 5 representative.

The format calls for two teams from each pool advancing to the semifinals in a single elimination championship tournament. The Acadians are in Pool A and should they advance, they would play at 3 PM on Tuesday July 28th if they are the #1 seed in Pool A or at 5 PM if they were the #2 seed in Pool A. The Championship Game will be polayed on Thursday July 30 at 5 PM.
