Drivers are advised to slow down today and be ready for icy conditions, in some areas of the state.

It's going to be a messy day, with the forecast calling for a wintry mix, which will combine with everything from snow to rain, depending on where you're located. WABI-TV 5's Todd Simcox says we won't get any significant accumulation, but the wintry mix will cause some slick roads in some areas. As of 7:30 this morning, we had reports of 'like glass' conditions in the Old Town/Milford area and multiple vehicles off the roads of Southern Maine. The speed limit on I-95 has been reduced to 45 mph. You can find more information, from the Maine DOT, about road conditions at 511 New England. Another great resource is a Facebook group, Maine Weather/Road conditions.

It's all supposed to clear out late in the afternoon or early evening but, in the meantime, could make for some messy driving. Drivers are cautioned to give themselves extra time to get to their destination today, and be prepared for changing conditions, as they travel around the state.

Any cancellations will be posted here. Take it easy and stay safe today.
