Trojans Tame Ponies 51-28

The MDI Trojans played host to the Foxcroft Academy Ponies on Wednesday night, December 11th, and they defeated the Ponies 51-28.

MDI outscored Foxcroft 14-2 in the 1st Quarter, and Foxcroft never got closer than 10 points the rest of the game. Jon Phelps scored 8 points in the 1st Quarter, including 2 3-pointers.

MDI then outscored Foxcroft 10-7 in the 2nd Quarter. Colby Snell had 5 points in the quarter for Foxcroft including a three pointer. At the half MDI was up 24-9.

MDI led 32- 18 after three quarters and the final score was 51-28.

MDI was led by Jon Phelps with 17 points including two 3-pointers. Steven Hanscom had 8 points. Riley Swanson had 1 3-pointer. Isaiah Keene (5 points), Riley Swanson (5 points), and James O'Donnell (2 points) scored their first varsity points. MDI was 12-16 from the free throw line.

Hunter Smith led Foxcroft with 10 points. Colby Snell had 7 points including 1 3 pointer. Foxcroft was 6-11 from the free throw line.

MDI improves to 2-0 on the season. They next play at Hermon on Saturday, December 14th. Foxcroft Academy falls to 1-1 on the season and will host Caribou on Saturday, December 14th at 4:30.
