The Bar Harbor and Mount Desert Island Police Departments, under the direction of Chief James Willis are beginning  a Good Morning Program, whereby Dispatchers and Police Officers from the two departments will call senior citizens or those with disabilities who live alone every weekday to check in on them.

Those who have signed up for the voluntary program, will receive a "Good Morning" call every weekday between 8:30 - 10:30 AM. If there is no answer, then police will visit the individual to check in and make sure they are OK.

To sign up for this service, contact Officer Brad O'Neil or Dispatcher Sharon Worchester at the Bar Harbor Police Department at 288-3391 or Officer Ken Mitchell at the Mount Desert Police Department at 276-5111
